Polycarbonate has become a bit of a dirty word because of the reality of Bisphenol -a other wise know as BPA. This was a necessary component to make polycarbonate until the advent of a new process by a company partnered with Trade Fixtures and ultimately us here at Brencar. Even though BPA was never a concern where bulk food bins were concerned, we have taken a proactive approach to the situation through several years of testing, analyzing and making certain that we can say with all confidence that we are now able to provide a BPA-Free polycarbonate bulk food bin that has all the same clarity, strength and toughness consistent with all of our products and that thousands of store owners around the world have come to expect and trust. It comes down to being a leader in the industry and coming through on promises where so many others do not. NSF approved, BPA-Free with literally thousands of installations in over 40 countries in the world; bulk food bins from Brencar are the best decision you will ever make when it comes to merchandising bulk foods in your grocery, health, convenience and pet food store.
BPA Free Bulk Food Bins
September 9, 2010PIJAC National Trade Show
September 9, 2010We are really looking forward to the upcoming PIJAC Pet show coming up in Mississauga Sept 19th and 20th. We have been getting a lot of inquiries regarding the use of bins for bulk pet foods since the same concerns for pets exist for our more “upright” friends. They want fresh and safe food and snacks at a lower price and are every bit concerned about the environment as we are. In fact I was just talking to my dog Biscuit the other day and she was telling me (since I understand dog) that she loved her pigs ears so much more because she knew that they didn’t come in some fancy plastic wrap that was going to be in the garbage forever. And she even commented on how she was glad with how much money I saved because I bought it in the bulk pet food section at my local grocery store. She’s such a smart girl. Anyways… the pet food show will be a great way to show an effective way of merchandising bulk pet food by saving space and keeping the product fresh and free from bugs etc. Stop by our booth #729 so we can show you a great way to earn more money per square foot than other part of the store.
Touch Screen Display
August 3, 2010With all of the food allergies and the ever-present need to know what it is were eating, we now have a Touch Screen Display that will keep customers in the know instead of in the dark… and they can do it with the latest touch screen technology. Now retailers can offer their customers nutritional information and create a profit centre at the same time by utilizing a Touch Screen Nutrional Display with Advertising Kiosk. This is the future of Bulk Merchandising. Go to www.touchscreendisplays.ca to see more and learn the value and importance of providing nutritional labelling.

Bulk Candy – A Very Sweet Opportunity
May 27, 2010Timeless: A word that describes the ageless and eternal, the everlasting and never-ending.
This is the Tao of Candy. This is the Business of Candy.
From our cave dwelling ancestors who snacked on sweet honey comb through to the Ancient Mayan civilization who used chocolate as currency and all the way up to modern day candy mega-corporations that have profits in the multi-billions of dollars, humans have always had a sweet tooth. To recall an after school trip to the neighbourhood corner store with two dimes in our pocket to fill a paper bag of penny candy is not a difficult thing to do. It’s a Timeless tradition that not only still thrives today with a much newer generation, but it is also big business. Very big business! Those penny candy sales now profit into the hundreds of millions of dollars, employing thousands of people offering hundreds of different products, flavours, shapes and textures. As well is the equally big business of merchandising and branding. Brightly coloured packaging with equally colourful characters have become almost iconic in today’s Western culture and you need only look at the racks of any convenience store to know that.
There is however a new “old” way of selling candy that goes back to a time where candy was proudly displayed in glass jars where only the colour and shape of the product was used to sell its appeal. Many C-Stores are taking sales of penny candy to a whole new level by utilizing the tried, tested and proven use of gravity feed bulk candy bins because now more than ever is the concern for providing a sanitary method of merchandising bulk candy. With gravity bins that seal the product freshness in while keeping sticky fingers out, retailers and their customers know that they are offering the freshest and safest product that they have to offer. Besides the safety of selling candy from gravity bins, the visual impact is pretty special too. All of our gravity bins have a unique false front design that is colourful and vibrant. Kind of like those glass jars of yesteryear. Also because of their design, a retailer can fit as many as 24 gravity bins onto a 4’ gondola and still maintain a low profile so as not to block the view of the store.
It’s not enough to offer a system that is safe, compact and visually appealing though. It must be profitable. Research has shown that the ROI on a 24 bin gravity fed candy display would only be about 4 months if all you did was fill each bin once a month. After that, it’s like a meter that keeps on running making more profits per square foot than almost any other category in the store.
Selling candy is an art within itself. You only need to look at the industry as a whole to know that. But selling bulk candy requires a different kind of art – and that is what we like to call The Art of Bulk Merchandising.
